Sidegrip, that's great.

Now, let's see some pics! :D

I had resisted the rotorcraft bug for a long time, but after some recent lessons in an R22 and R44, I might have to rethink that! :P

How was the transition to the heli? What are perfomance and load numbers like for the 44?

Sidegrip, I totally agree with Jeff Snyder... you owe us some pics! :D

Flyfeatherfly, the R44 is a fantastic aircraft. It will take full fuel and around 700 lbs of beef and bags and still go straight up. ;)

The add-on for a fixed wing pilot is about 30 hours total. 20 hours of dual and 10 hours of solo. Most add-ons I have done for fixed wing pilots come in pretty close to that.

I'll warn you now... flying helicopters is the aviation equivalent of heroin. You're gonna want the rating after that first flight. :D

They both carry about the same amount of weight with full full. With that golden hour of fuel reserve the toga will go 4 hrs (easy) at 145kts LOP.
45 min reserve, the 44 has 2.25 hrs endurance at 110 kts.

That's a beautiful ship! I'd trade a toga for it in a heartbeat :D
